Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI) has been awarded a contract to integrate, install, service and maintain a suite of biological aerosol sensors in support of field campaigns and data collection objectives associated with the Biological Detection for the 21st Century (BD21) efforts led by the Department of Homeland Security’s (DHS) Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office (CWMD). The bio sensor platform, referred to as Recon and Metrology BD21 (RAM-BD21), will be comprised of several state-of-the-art COTS/GOTS sensors to discriminate biological organisms from background particles. Each RAM-BD21 platform will be equipped with PSI’s Optical Warning and Localization (OWL) module that provides network communication, on-board processing and contextual information for higher level decisions.
