UHT-21

PSI’s UHT-21 is a refractory-modified C/SiC CMC with service temperatures up to 5000°F.

Capability Description:

The UHT-21 CMCs produced by PSI have service temperatures up to 5000°F. These composites are fabricated with a specialized refractory blend and are compatible with our PSC-10 materials system as well as our Direct Z-pin Insertion and Flexible TPS manufacturing methods.

  • Carbon fiber reinforced CMC with a refractory-modified SiC matrix phase
  • Demonstrated Service Temps >4500°F
  • Seamless integration with PSC-10 as a hybrid system, compatible with Z-pinning and Flex TPS products.
  • Refractory blend is added at the prepreg state enabling full processing compatibility with our PSC-10
