Physical Sciences Inc., located just north of Boston in Andover, MA, seeks a graduate student with at least three years of laboratory experience to support existing technology development efforts in the areas of integrated photonics, engineered optical or semiconductor materials, quantum networking, and quantum sensors.

This intern will join a multi-disciplinary team focused on developing hardware solutions for US Government missions in night vision, infrared focal plane arrays, RF photonics, and quantum information.

The intern’s responsibilities include assisting PSI scientists and engineers in:

  • Component design and fabrication, potentially at a local university nano-fabrication center.
  • Nano-fabricated component and assembly testing in PSI laboratories.
  • Analyzing experimental data.
  • Presenting results and findings to team members.

During the their time at PSI, the intern will gain valuable experience working alongside staff scientists and engineers while developing, maturing, and transitioning technology solutions related to national security and quantum sciences.

This internship may be most beneficial for students pursuing graduate degrees in Physics, Applied Physics, or Optical Engineering.

Hourly Wage Range : $20-$35
