Electroactive Polymer Separators

 

PSI is developing a multifunctional separator that provides both the ionic transport between lithium ion electrodes and reversibly switches from an insulator to a conductor. This switching behavior provides overcharge protection for improved safety and cycle life, especially in a pack configuration.
