Ophthalmic Imaging
PSI is currently conducting several research programs with the aim to gain a greater understanding of vision and the diseases that cause blindness, including age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, retinopathy of prematurity, and others. These projects are conducted in collaboration with world-renowned researchers and clinicians in the field of ophthalmology. PSI is at the forefront of the invention and development of several diagnostic technologies for high resolution retinal imaging, including adaptive optics (AO), optical coherence tomography (OCT), autofluorescence, hemodynamics, and small animal imaging. We have a suite of products that include a line scanning ophthalmoscope (LSO), a retinal tracker (also known as the ocular interface or tracking scanning laser ophthalmoscope), a multimodal AO retinal imager, and a real-time Fourier domain OCT processing board.
