MissionThe mission of the Clinical Technologies Group is the development of a variety of advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies for civilian and military medicine. Our group works closely with clinicians, clinical care givers, and clinical researchers.
Core CompetenciesCore competencies include optical-based diagnostics and sensing, laser tissue interactions, and advanced electro- mechanical design and control. These competencies are supported by modern laboratory facilities and scientists and engineers with skills in optical engineering and spectroscopy, laser-material interactions, mechanical, thermal, and fluids engineering, electrical, electronic and software engineering, and controls and automation. Current Research Thrusts Include:
Our recent and current sponsors include the National Institutes of Health, the DoD, and DARPA and select commercial entities. Area Leadership
The Clinical Technologies Group is led by Dr. David I. Rosen. Dr Rosen received his Ph.D. in Applied and Engineering Physics from Cornell University and has over 30 years of experience leading R&D efforts in a wide range of disciplines and applications. This experience has included developing new laser devices, characterization of laser material interactions, developing advanced optical sensors for remote sensing and medical diagnostics, and developing novel electromechanical medical treatment devices. Dr Rosen currently serves as the area manager for the overall Medical Technologies area as well as Vice President for the Applied Optics Enterprise.
