Marine Technologies
Mission
The mission of the Marine Technologies Area is to address complex scientific and engineering problems of current interest to the oceanographic and national defense communities.
Core Competencies
Core competencies include acoustic, magnetic, chemical, and optical sensor design and analysis, physics-based signal processing, and sonar system design and analysis. The Marine Technologies Area personnel skills include mechanical, electrical, electronic and software engineering and digital signal processing.

- Stern Launch and Recovery System
- Advanced Underwater Imaging

- Objectives: Develop an Automated Stern Launch and Recovery Systems for UUV's and USV's for the Littoral Combat Ship.

- Objectives: Develop a high performance laser line scan imaging system for UUV's.

Mr. James Glynn |
The Marine Technologies Area is led by Mr. James M. Glynn. Mr. Glynn has over 25 years of experience developing advanced sensors, signal processors, instrumentation and robotics systems for a wide range of applications for commercial and national defense programs. Mr. Glynn currently serves as both the area manager for the Marine Technologies Area, as well as Vice President of the Marine Systems Enterprise.
