TDL-1004: Industrial Gas Sensor

Description

Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI) has added a totally autonomous industrial version to our popular research gas sensors product line. The new autonomous model utilizes the same robust tunable, room temperature diode laser technology successful in previous research models. This model provides the latest in autonomous, turn key, stand-alone gas monitoring for remote applications. Up to 4 simultaneous monitoring locations are supported

New Industrial Features

  • Fully automated
  • Multiple line-of-sight measurement locations
  • Internet/Ethernet link for setup/performance monitoring
  • Continuous analog (0 to 10 VDC, or 4 to 20 mA) outputs
  • Optional water-cooled optics/window hardware
  • Optional remote communications system
  • Optional multiple readout locations
  • Optional NIST atomic clock synchronization of CPU

Basic Features

  • In-situ measurement, no extractive sampling
  • Sub-ppm detection capability
  • All fiber coupled light transport
  • Rapid, 10 Hz continuous data reporting
  • Time tagged data storage to disk
  • Variable UHV to 2 atm pressure range
  • Standard 19-in. rack mounted controller, and readout units

Applications

  • Atmospheric monitoring
  • Combustion/propulsion emissions
  • Trace humidity in process flows
  • Trace contamination in semiconductor feed gases
  • Gas temperature, flow velocity, mass flux monitoring
  • Fence line monitoring of gas clouds, wind direction

PSI's Model TDL-1004 was designed with the goal of providing maximum service in a turn-key system for a minimum cost. Our new design highlights a completely autonomous, turn-key system requiring no interactive setup or personnel interface. The unit provides simultaneous, multiple line-of-sight measurements with a single laser control unit and single data acquisition unit. Compared with individual line-of-sight instruments, the Industrial gas sensor provides significant savings in capital equipment and personnel training costs. The TDL-1004 features robust mechanical construction for use on the manufacturing floor, proprietary long-haul communications for remote location monitoring, and boasts the capability to incorporate multiple diode lasers for multiple species monitoring.
