TDL-1001: Low Cost Gas Sensor

Specifications

The TDL 1001 series are designed specifically for the Chemical Oxygen Iodine Laser (COIL) research community. These sensitive devices provide sensitive monitors for several species and parameters that are crucial to the operation of COIL systems including:

  • Water vapor
  • Singlet oxygen yield
  • Small signal gain
  • Translational temperature
  • Flow velocity

Our systems provide real-time operation and simple integration into COIL devices by using optical fibers and miniature detectors. The systems are computer controlled, the user interacts with the monitor through several graphic user interface windows. The systems come pre-calibrated and ready to use. Data reduction is automated and measurements can be recorded at a rate greater than 10 Hz. Our sensors have been extensively field-tested and are in use at many of the major COIL facilities world wide.

We are always pleased to work with customers to develop new diagnostic capabilities for these diagnostics and continue to improve the sensitivity of these instruments. Typical sensitivity levels that are routinely achieved are provided below:

Water vapor concentration(<3 x 1015 cm-3 for a 5 cm pathlength)
Atomic iodine(absorption or gain: < 0.01%/cm for a 10 cm path)
