PSI's Novel High Energy Oxidizer

(March 2008):Physical Sciences Inc. (PSI) of Andover, Massachusetts, has been awarded a research contract from the U.S. Air Force Flight Test Center to develop a novel high energy oxidizer for solid propellants.

PSI is synthesizing and evaluating a novel organic high energy based oxidizer for solid rocket propellants. The end result will be a class of oxidizers with high performance (high energy, high oxygen balance, high density, low sensitivity) and clean combustion (chlorine free).

The novel oxidizer for solid propellants will be used to demonstrate a range of potential space access and orbital propulsion applications.
