Atmospheric Sensors

PSI GreenHouse Gas sensor suite deployed on Mt. Mansfield, VT.
Global climate changes demand better understanding of the atmosphere for human health, agriculture, and weather prediction. Stationary networks and unmanned aerial systems are being developed to increase data input to enhance monitoring and prediction of air quality. Analytical sensors for detection and quantification of greenhouse gases and aerosols are essential components for these new applications. Our capabilities in optically-based sensing create new sensor solutions for both ground network and airborne sensing regimes.
Current activities capture opportunities in the rapidly growing shale-oil recovery industry and in the weather industry. From diagnostics of well head fluids to UAS-borne monitoring of natural gas leaks – we lead the wave of advanced process analytical sensors for expanding monitoring applications. Our water vapor differential absorption LIDAR provides new capability for automated precision water vapor profiling in the lower atmosphere.
