Aqueous solutions containing non-toxic, non-corrosive additives are being developed to deactivate biological agents on "sensitive" surfaces such as those found in electronic equipment. These sensitive surfaces cannot be decontaminated by conventional means, such as with bleach, because of corrosive effects. PSI's decontamination formulations are sprayed onto the contaminated surface and produce thin, conformal coatings that contain additives that are highly effective against spores and other classes of biological agents. This technology has application to Homeland Defense and medical instrument sterilization.
