Physical Science Inc., an employee-owned company, located north of Boston in Andover and Southern NH, is looking for a Safety Specialist that will implement corporate safety policies, ensure safety compliance, and manage hazardous materials.

Responsibilities will include:
• Monitor safety program within the organization and assist Corporate Safety Officer to enact laboratory safety policies.
• Inspect facilities to ensure compliance with corporate, state, and federal requirements.
• Evaluate laboratory practices and recommend proper safety equipment for employees.
• Manage hazardous chemical inventory, waste storage and disposal.
• Orient new employees on company safety policies and procedures
• Coordination of shipping and transport of hazardous and energetic materials.
• Act as liaison between organization and government entities during facility inspections.

Requirements:
• US Citizenship
• Associates degree in EHS or equivalent
• Experience in safety or related field and knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and DOT standards
• Applicable certifications in Laboratory Safety, HAZMAT safety from DOT or other applicable agencies
• Ability to acquire ATF certification to handle energetic materials

Desired Qualifications:
• BA/BS in general fields of science or technology
• Experience in hazardous material handling and shipping
• Holds a Class A commercial driver’s license with a HAZMAT endorsement, in MA or NH, or ability to obtain one
