Physical Sciences Inc., located just north of Boston in Andover, is looking for an individual with strong technical skills in the area of sensor system design, implementation, and support. The position involves developing hardware and algorithm-centered detection systems for monitoring and screening applications with an emphasis on spectroscopic threat detection.

The candidate will work with a strong group of existing scientists and hardware engineers to advance and deploy technology for DHS CWMD, US Customs and Border Protection, and various law enforcement agencies. Those efforts will implement major advances in sensor technology, detection algorithms, and signal processing that enable improved detection capability across a range of fixed and mobile platforms.

The applicant should have experience in the development, use, and implementation of fielded systems, to include sensor calibration and data quality management. The applicant should have a strong physics or engineering background with exposure to CAD and electrical system troubleshooting. Experience in engineering and manufacturing designs for next generation detection systems, system operational testing and deployment, and coding experience (C or Python) is desirable. Military and/or law enforcement experience with these systems is also desirable

US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
