Physical Sciences Inc., a 275 person employee-owned company located in Andover, MA, currently has a dynamic opening in the Human Resources Department for a dependable and enthusiastic Sr. Human Resources Assistant to support the many facets within HR and Finance. We are looking for a candidate who has the ability to:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date human resources files, records, and documentation.
• Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of human resource files and records.
• Answer questions from employees relative to standard policies, benefits, hiring processes, etc.
• Perform periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
• Act as a liaison between the organization and external benefits providers and vendors, which may include health, disability, and retirement plan providers.
• Conduct new hire orientation.
• Assist with planning and execution of special events such as meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, etc.
• Perform clerical work and other duties as assigned.
• Provide back-up for receptionist/front desk.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will provide administrative support to the Manager of Finance & Administration including, but not limited to:
• Maintaining financial spreadsheets and files
• Assistance with payroll reporting
• Assistance with retirement plans and insurance plan audits
• Assistance with Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) reporting and communications

Required Skills/Abilities:
• 2-4 years related experience required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related software
• Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS) and benefits portal (Maxwell)
• Strong math/finance skills preferred

Education and Experience:
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
