Q-Peak, located in Bedford, MA is seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer. The candidate we seek will develop and apply extensive electrical engineering theory and methods to solve complex technical problems related to advanced laser system research, development, and commercialization. Additionally the candidate will research, develop, design, fabricate, and test electrical and electromechanical components, equipment, controllers, devices and systems of a complex nature. Will engage in hands-on assembly, testing, and data analysis for proofs-of-concept. Will direct supplier fabrication activities to ensure manufacturing, construction, installation and operational testing conform to functional specifications, regulatory safety standards and user requirements.
Areas of expertise for laser system electronic design include power supplies, diode drivers, system controllers, control loops and user interfaces. Extensive experience in electronics documentation and drawing generation is required. Knowledge and experience developing low-level software drivers and high-level, software-based user interfaces is desirable. Candidate will serve as the lead electrical engineer for multiple laser development projects supporting deliverables, sciences, engineering, and internal R&D. Desired knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC and/or ISO process controls, as well as required knowledge of all MS Office and MS Project application suites. Other requirements include: Time management skills to provide active feedback to project teams in order to achieve targeted project milestones, electrical design, RCCA analysis, and customer presentation skills. Experience in electrical R&D proposal writing is a plus.
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering with 12+ years of related experience including areas related to laser design. Experience with electronics design for the full environmental range of flight qualified hardware is desired.
