Combustible Materials Scientist/Engineer

Physical Sciences Inc., located just north of Boston in Andover, MA is seeking an experienced scientist/engineer to conduct research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E) of innovative technologies for advanced propulsion and munitions systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in liquid and/or solid materials for high temperature, high impact, and/or highly reactive applications. Candidates with demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience in the fields of combustion, energy conversion, and/or impact mechanics are sought.

The individual selected for this position will apply these experiences to structural, chemical, and processing scale-up projects in order to transition technologies from ideas to fully-developed systems. The individual will be expected to collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers and will be responsible for maturing a diverse portfolio of existing technologies while actively developing new technology solutions to opportunities within the Department of Defense and NASA. The candidate should be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills, proficiency in writing technical reports and/or proposals, and should be comfortable delivering presentations to members within government agencies.

Candidates should have either a MS or PhD in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistry. Several years of post-graduate experience in RDT&E in related disciplines is highly desired.

US citizenship with the ability to obtain a security clearance is required.
