Propulsion Engineer

PSI - Boston, MA

Physical Sciences Inc., located just north of Boston in Andover, is looking for engineers to conduct research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) of innovative critical technologies for advanced propulsion and munitions systems. Emphasis is focused on prototype demonstration of rocket and air-breathing propulsion systems.

We are seeking multiple individuals with strong backgrounds in combustion, data acquisition, instrumentation and/or test automation to join a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and scientists. These individuals will play key roles in growing a diverse portfolio of technologies funded by the DoD and NASA. Multiple job openings exist in the field of rocket propulsion, with projects involving liquid rocket engines, solid rocket motors, high-pressure plumbing systems, liquid propellant processing, solid propellant processing, liquid feed system components, and propulsion control systems. Work will be performed at PSI’s headquarters in Andover, MA as well as PSI’s propulsion and energetics testing complex in Epping, NH.

Candidates should be comfortable with designing, building, and operating test automation systems involving data acquisition and control equipment. Experience with either LabVIEW, Python, Matlab, and/or C/C++ is needed. Experience with signal conditioning, power electronics, and/or microcontrollers is a plus.

BS degree plus at least 2 years of post-college experience in RDT&E in related disciplines, or a Master’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.

US Citizenship is required with the ability to obtain a security clearance.
