Chemical Process Engineer

PSI - Boston, MA

Physical Sciences Inc., located just north of Boston in Andover, has a career opportunity for a Chemical Engineer interested in developing and scaling up new chemical production technologies from laboratory/batch processes to pilot-scale/continuous processes. Examples of technologies: Production of chemicals, including energetic materials, via microreactor systems, recovery of commercially valuable metals/materials from industrial and consumer product wastes, low-cost production of industrial and specialty chemicals from natural gas, synthesis/production of new classes of catalysts for industrial processes, and economical green chemistry and low carbon footprint alternatives to current energy-intensive chemical industries.

The ideal candidate would possess a PhD or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering with approximately 3-5 years industrial work experience, with skills in process design tools such as ASPEN including techno-economic analysis, and pilot-scale process/plant development and field implementation. The successful candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team of engineers, chemists, and industrial partners to transition processes from the laboratory to industrial production.

The position provides professional growth opportunities for project development, program management, and transition to full-scale production.
