Research Support Instruments is looking for a Senior Level Electrical Engineer with a breadth of experience in the design, development, integration, and testing of space-based electrical systems. The candidate should be a multidisciplinary individual with experience in multiple aspects of electrical systems. This position will be supporting NASA, NRL, and RSI programs performing systems concept development, design, analyses, hardware development, I&T, operations, and data analysis (complete spaceflight instrument hardware lifecycle).

Desired attributes/skills include analog, digital, control signal, and power systems knowledge. Additionally, the ability to design, conduct, and analyze EMI/EMC tests is important. Flight instrument design and analysis experience is required along with the use of electrical CAD development software, I&T experience (test facility certification), lab testing, lab hardware development and calibration. Someone who has the capability of modeling flight charging of the sensor is a plus. Must be a hands-on person and enjoy working in the lab.

The individual must be capable of communicating effectively with other subsystem leads (Optical, Mechanical, Thermal, Software, etc.) as well as discipline engineers working on other elements of the electrical subsystem.

MS or PhD Degree in Electrical Engineering with 3+ years’ space flight hardware experience or BS Degree with 7+ years’ space flight hardware experience.

US Citizenship required,as candidate must be able to obtain a clearance clearance (having an existing Secret or TS-SCI is optimal).
