Hybrid LSLO/SDOCT Retinal Imager

The hybrid retinal imager uniquely merges line-scanning laser ophthalmoscopy (LSLO) and spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SDOCT) into a single instrument. The innovation in the hybrid instrument lies in a common optical path that results in the acquisition of interleaved en-face LSLO and cross-sectional SDOCT frames. The combined optical paths are possible because of the similar requirements, specifications, and hardware for LSLO and SDOCT. We are currently engaged in transition of this technology from the bench-top to a field portable unit for military applications.
