Researchers at PSI are very active in chemical laser research. Chemical lasers produce near to mid-IR output and can be operated as high power systems. We have a long history in determining important reaction rates and in developing ultra-sensitive diagnostics. Our diode laser chemical laser diagnostics are used world-wide. We are also active in developing new sources for reactants and excitation schemes for new laser devices.
